A Social Media & Online Marketplaces DLC Training
A three module Distance Learning Course (DLC) that teaches the essential skills and techniques to process social media and online market places as part of an OSINT investigation.
This is a good starter course to give you value as a member of an OSINT Investigation Team. However, soon after, you should take the OSINT DLC or an OSINT Live Online Training (LOT), so that you complete your training as valuable member of your OSINT team.
We will discount the price of the OSINT DLC as you do not need to take again the modules in the SOCMINT DLC.
MATERIALS PROVIDED IN THE DLC-P-S
No prior experience required.
With each module of the course, two items of training material are provided.
1. A Help Notes & Links file in PDF. One for each module.
The pages correlate to the slides in the LOT video recording with step-by-step process descriptions and links to all of the online resources covered in the module.
No need to take notes, everything you need is in the Help Notes & Links files.
2. A video recording for each module of a recent Live Online Training that explains and demonstrates all the investigation processes covered in the course.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES OF THE SOCMINT DLC
The SOCMINT & Online Marketplaces Training teaches practitioners how to locate people on social media platforms and how to safely process their accounts also, this course teaches how to process blogs, forums, archives, marketplaces and a wide selection of community platforms, so that by the end of the course, the trainee shall have acquired the capability to be a proficient OSINT practitioner.
LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE SOCMINT DLC
The practitioner will have acquired the capability to safely deploy an investigation, in compliance with the legislation and will know how to locate and gather open source intelligence and material from multiple sources and to connect people and organisations through their online activity, even where an entity might have no intended on-line presence.

MODULES COVERED IN THE SOCMINT DLC
Module 1 : Social Media Part 1 - Linkedin, Instagram, Xcom & Threads
This is module 5 of the 8 module OSINT Training. Demonstrating with trainee exercises, the OSINT capabilities of Social Media as an investigative resource & processing users and the content they publish on Instagram, Xcom (Twitter), Linkedin, Threads and other social media platforms.
Module 2 : Social Media Part 2 - Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube
This is module 6 of the 8 module OSINT Training. Demonstrating with exercises, the OSINT capabilities of Social Media as an investigative resource & processing users and the still and moving image (video) content they publish on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, SnapChat and other social media and image sharing platforms.
Module 3 : Blogs, Forums & Online Marketplaces
This is module 7 of the 8 module OSINT Training. Demonstrating live and online, the processing of blogs, forums & similar platforms, with a focus on the deployment of OSINT techniques to identify people using these resources, followed by trainee exercises. Then moving on to the processing of internet marketplaces, the identification of users on these platforms and the published activity of those users with live on-line demonstrations of the resources and techniques available to the OSINT practitioner.

The assessment is optional.
There are 3 online tests, one for each module, with multiple choice questions.
When a module is completed, the trainee can request a Module Test.
Where all Module Tests are passed with a score of 70% or more
there is no need to take the Final Exam.
If a pass mark to not achieved on any Module Test, the trainee can take the Final Exam.
At the beginning or during the course, the trainee can decide to use the Module Tests only for practice
with the intention of taking the Final Exam at the end of the course.
Module Tests have between 5 and 10 questions. The duration will vary depending on the number of questions, but will not exceed 60 minutes.
The Final Exam has about 20 questions and the time allowed is 120 minutes.
Where the course is passed, a Certificate of Achievement is awarded with CPD credits.
The trainee can elect to have the average Module Test score or the Final Exam score display on the certificate.
Where the course is failed, but the trainee has attended all of the Live Online Training events, a Certificate of Attendance is awarded.
TRAINING MATERIAL MAINTENANCE
Twice a year, Axeten conducts a complete review of all of the training material.
Any significant update located during any review is applied to the training material.
All review and update activity is recorded and signed off by a director.

Technical Requirements: No specialist equipment is required, just a standard desktop or laptop computer with a good Internet connection and a Firefox Browser.
Data Protection: Each organisation and all its trainees, that take the training are responsible for protecting the data that might be processed during the training. Do not leak data to corporate interests. To do this, avoid the use of the Chrome or Edge Browsers.
Copyright: Each recipient of the training is obliged to protect any digital asset provided by Axeten. There is no right to distribute the material to anyone else. This includes people inside your organisation.
